Buying Time Or Biding Time

To bide means to stay put and wait. If you finish a test first, you may have to bide your time until everyone else is done and you can leave class. Nowadays, the old-fashioned word bide is almost always paired with time. If you're biding your time, it's like you're treading water or in a holding pattern.

A friend of mine shared a conversation he had with a filmmaker for Netflix. The filmmaker said that he focused on spending 40% of his time on paid, commercial work, and 60% of his time on his own creative projects.

  • The real-time bidding protocol specifies the signals your application canuse to evaluate and bid on each impression sent in a request, as well as how toconstruct a response. There are two ways to modify the protocol associated withyour bidder application:Contact your Technical Account Manager to manually change it.

  • Use the Authorized Buyers REST API to programmatically change it..

Supported protocolsAuthorized Buyers currently supports three RTB protocols:

To use either protocol, you must install the protocol compiler andProtobuf runtime for your chosen language. You can thendownload the proto files youintend to use and run the compiler to generate a library that can serialize ordeserialize messages defined in the proto, such as BidRequest orBidResponse. ThisProtobuf referencedemonstrates how to do this for several languages.

The RTB protocols will be modified as Google adds new features anddeprecates others. Changes will be announced well before they take effect, which should give you sufficient time to remove any dependencies yourapplication may have on fields that are scheduled for deprecation. For moreinformation on handling deprecated fields, seeAdapting as BidRequest Fieldsare Deprecated.

With private marketplace (PMP), you can select the publisher of your choice and easily manage all your deals, while layering on all the same real-time targeting and brand safety measures you use in open-market auctions. Bring your first-party deals, or choose from thousands of inventory contracts in our deal library.

A few items have both kinds of buttons and show two prices at once. Items like this are for sale both ways. If nobody uses the "Buy It Now" button, the item goes to the highest bidder when time is up.

Bidding online is just like being there. Your will hear the auctioneer in real time as you bid against buyers from all over the world. The only difference is that instead of raising your bidder number you simply click your mouse.

The price increases each time someone makes a new, higher bid until finally, no other bidders are willing to offer more than the most recent bid, and the highest bidder takes the item. An auction is considered complete when the vendor accepts the highest bid offered and the buyer pays for the goods or services and takes possession of them.

The introduction of real-time bidding to the ad tech industry has significantly changed the way premium publishers, app developers and advertisers deliver their advertising campaigns. Real-time bidding offers more control to publishers when managing their advertising inventory, including the ability to set price floors. Therefore, publishers should be looking to choose an RTB platform that allows them to maximize ad monetization opportunities for optimum campaign performance.

A now integral part of the programmatic advertising process, real-time bidding (RTB) refers to the process of buying and selling ad impressions in real-time. It is an automated auction that allows advertisers to bid on ad space from publishers on a cost per mille (CPM) basis.

The benefits of real-time bidding are numerous for everyone involved. Real-time bidding is fast, efficient, and cost-effective. For publishers, the benefits include price floor optimization and monetization opportunities for remnant ad units.

For publishers looking to understand, and leverage real-time bidding technology for ad monetization, it is integral to understand that RTB is not a platform in itself, but rather an ecosystem that involves several different platforms working together to manage ad operations.

RTB real-time platforms are a central part of the programmatic advertising ecosystem. By leveraging the right RTB platform digital publishers, app developers, and blog owners can join the RTB process and get the highest price possible from the advertising inventory.

After you complete your payment, the system will attempt to obtain each cart item for you individually. Processing times of each NFT may vary depending on their origin chain and network usage. You will be informed of your order status via email throughout the process:

Having explored some experiences with desynchrony, we can now realize that our attachment to rhythm, our love of familiar time, is a guide that helps steer us throughout the day and year. Just as residents inside the confines of the Alhambra sensed the hour of the day according to the sequence of odors that wafted throughout the palace, we experience our own diurnal rhythms when greeted each morning by a steaming coffee, then propelled through the day by sugared installments, downshifted in evening with a glass of wine, and finally soothed into bed by a chamomile tea. One event logically flows to the next, with our bodies responding accordingly. Should we interrupt our routine, or miss a ritual beverage, we do not feel our best or cannot fall asleep. But it is not merely the absence (or excess) of caffeine that throws us, for there are also innate bodily stimulants that combine with those we consume. The endorphins that bathe our tissues and make us feel our finest typically peak in the morning after falling to a nadir at night; yet we can also elevate these chemical levels with modest exercise.101 Cultural, physiological, and cosmological stimuli, working through holistic natureculture responses, produce the chemical fluxes of chronophilia. We order our days and our lives along a sequence of events, and suffer if that sequence is rearranged, distorted, or disrupted. We are creatures of chronological habit.102

Yet despite all this astronomical coincidence, we displaced earthlings will have a much harder time entraining our bodies to follow the Martian year of 687 earth days. Each year and each season will last almost twice as long as what we are used to, making it hard on our bodies and on our minds to go through life at roughly half our accustomed pace, since living to seventy-five on Earth would mean making it to only forty on Mars. Deities who rely on human lifespans to mark off time may have to reset their own clocks if we take up residence on Mars, since every planet runs by its own heliogeophysical parameters. Barring a sudden deceleration of our own genetic and cultural rhythms, our lifespan will always remain attached to our home planet, however distant and however climate changed. In the end, chronophilia means that we humans will always feel foreign on any other planet. Space travelers beware that no matter how hard we try, many of our own ticks and tocks will always emanate from our own tilting, rotating, and revolving Earth. We can remake, reset, and entrain our earthly rhythms, but we will always live with them from our first days in the womb.

For ably assisting my foray into time-attachment, I thankfully acknowledge key insights and valuable feedback received from friends, seminar audiences, and several anonymous reviewers, as well as Lisa Brady, David Farrier, and my own repeatedly jet-lagged family. An EU Horizon 2020 grant through INFRAVEC2 helped offset expenses in the researching of this article.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; ...

Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. ...

A live foreclosure auction is usually a big event. There may be hundreds of homes being sold. It is usually held at a county building, such as the courthouse. One property will be auctioned off at a time. Bidders will raise their paddles (usually numbered) to raise the bid price.

When people ask how online auctions work, one of their main concerns tends to be the bidding system. Every auction is different, so you will have to do your research ahead of time if you want to be prepared.

You will have to have your finances in order before the auction. Laws vary from state to state, but almost every state will require you to pay immediately when you purchase a house at auction, or within a very short time period.

When you buy a home the traditional way, you will spend time looking over the home and have a professional inspection done. There will also be an appraisal to ensure that the home is worth the price you are paying. With a foreclosure auction, you are buying the home mostly sight unseen and without the benefit of an inspection or appraisal. 041b061a72
